Most people are very aware of the holocaust and the 5+ million horrific murders committed by Hitler and his Nationalist Socialist (Nazi) party.
But how many people are aware that in less than 100 years, Communism has claimed more than 100 million lives?
Few people are familiar with the
- 65 mllion – killed by Communist China; Mao Zedong and his “Great Leap Forward” itself directly caused the deaths of 30 million peasants
- 9 million – Lenin and the Bolshevik revolution murdered 9 million to seize power
- 20 million – Stalin and the Soviet Union; of which almost 7 million Ukranians intentionally starved to death by Stalin as penalty for the Ukranian resistance to their collectivist ideals.
Beyond Communism itself, you can add the massive death tolls from the Government caused atrocities of World War 1 (15M), and World War 2 (66M).
The common thread in all these tragedies and crimes against humanity is the State (aka Government). More specifically, it is the elevation of the collective (aka “society) and degradation of individuals and individual rights.
262 million deaths is a horrific reminder the next time a liberal starts talking about how their desire for “the greater good” is more compassionate than relying on individual liberty.
